Maningrida Arts & Culture

Maningrida Arts & Culture, located in Arnhem Land's Kunibídji country, is a vibrant hub for contemporary Aboriginal art. Encompassing over 100 clan estates and 7,000 square kilometers, it represents a diverse community speaking more than 12 languages. The center showcases a rich tapestry of artistic expressions, including bark paintings, sculptures, and weaving, deeply rooted in ancestral traditions. Renowned artists like John Mawurndjul and Lena Yarinkura have emerged from this community, whose works are celebrated globally. Adjacent to the art center, the Djómi Museum houses a significant collection of cultural artifacts and photographs, offering insights into the region's rich heritage.
