
Kensington Gardens Reserve, also known as Kensington Wama, is the largest recreational area in the City of Burnside, offering a diverse range of facilities for all ages. The reserve features the award-winning Burnside Adventure Park, inspired by the surrounding gum trees, and includes the Waite, Parkinson, and Ford Ovals. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as shelters, barbecues, playgrounds, and accessible public toilets. The reserve also boasts a new wetland area, bridges, and a boardwalk over the wetland, enhancing its natural beauty and providing opportunities for environmental education. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of hard-court and grass tennis courts, cricket nets, rugby union fields, and pickleball courts. A 1.7 km shared-use path encircles the reserve, featuring outdoor fitness stations and lighting for evening use. The reserve is also home to the Kensington Gardens Bowling and Tennis Club Inc., East Torrens – Kensington Gardens Hard-court Tennis Club, Kensington District Cricket Club, and Burnside Rugby Union Football Club. The reserve is wheelchair accessible and offers ample parking, including disabled parking spaces. Dog owners can enjoy the dog on-lead area at the wetland.
