Kalamurina Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 2007, spans 679,667 hectares in South Australia's arid interior, protecting vital desert ecosystems. Located on the shores of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre, it encompasses diverse habitats, including dunefields, ephemeral lakes, floodplains, and gibber plains. The sanctuary safeguards threatened species such as the Crest-tailed Mulgara, Dusky Hopping Mouse, and Eyrean Grasswren. Visitors can experience unpowered camping facilities, with bookings essential due to limited capacity. Access is weather-dependent, and tours are available through Outback Spirit. Please note that tours and camping are temporarily unavailable due to severe flooding.
