Jones Store, constructed in the mid-1930s, stands as one of the oldest surviving structures in historic Newcastle Waters. Built from corrugated iron, bamboo, and earth, it served as a vital hub for drovers traversing the Murranji, Barkly, and north-south stock routes, offering provisions and essential services like butchery, bakery, and saddlery. After restoration, it became a museum, showcasing displays that depict the life of the outback drover and the history of Newcastle Waters. The museum is open year-round, offering self-guided tours with interpretive signage. Parking is available on-site.
