Iron Pot Creek campground, nestled within Toonumbar National Park, offers a serene retreat among tall flooded gums and lush rainforest. The campground features 10 spacious, unpowered sites equipped with picnic tables and wood barbecues (firewood not provided). A short walk through a forest of Bangalow palms leads to the pristine creek, ideal for swimming in its cool, clear waters. Wildlife enthusiasts can encounter red-necked pademelons, goannas, carpet pythons, and various bird species during the day, while nocturnal creatures like frogs, possums, and gliders emerge at night. The area is accessible via unsealed roads suitable for 2WD vehicles in dry conditions. Please note, water is not available on-site; visitors should bring their own drinking and cooking water. Rubbish bins are not provided, so all waste must be taken with you upon departure. To preserve the creek's purity, avoid using sunblock or insect repellent before swimming. Children should be supervised at all times near the water. The campground is open year-round, offering a peaceful alternative to busier coastal areas.
