Gunns Plains Caves, nestled in Tasmania's northwest, offers guided tours through a limestone cave adorned with impressive calcite formations, including shawls and flowstones. The 275-meter tour route features well-lit concrete pathways, a short ladder, and occasional dampness; visitors should wear low-heeled walking shoes. The cave's underground river is home to platypus, giant freshwater crayfish, fish, and eels. Glow-worms illuminate the ceilings, creating a starlit effect. Open daily except Christmas Day, tours are available at six intervals between 10:00 am and 3:30 pm.
