Giles Conservation Park, established in 2007, spans 109 hectares in the Adelaide Hills, approximately 10 km east of Adelaide. The park features rugged slopes adorned with Brown and Messmate Stringybarks, while lower areas are dominated by South Australian Blue Gum, Pink Gum, Manna Gum, and River Red Gum. The valley floors have been severely disturbed. The park is home to 66 bird species, including the Adelaide Rosella, White-throated Treecreeper, and Superb Fairywren. It also provides habitat for native mammals such as Western Grey Kangaroos and Koalas. The Heysen and Yurrebilla trails traverse the park, offering stunning views of the surrounding region. Visitors can explore the remains of a large homestead, including coaching sheds, a stable, and cowsheds, along the signposted walking trails. The original garden of the Horsnell property is located at the start of the walking trail, marked by elm trees, plum trees, and orange trees.
