DownsSteam Toowoomba is a volunteer-run community organization dedicated to preserving and operating a heritage railway in the Darling Downs region. Established in 2001, it has restored the last remaining steam locomotive built at the historic Toowoomba Foundry Company, C16-106 Southern Cross Works No. 28, circa 1914. Visitors can explore the historic Drayton Station, tour the Dreamtime Carriage, and embark on scenic train journeys to destinations like Warwick and Stanthorpe, offering a unique glimpse into the area's rich rail heritage.
