The Diamond Tree, a towering karri tree located 10 km south of Manjimup along the South Western Highway, was utilized as a fire lookout from 1941 to 1974. In 1940, a cabin was constructed at its 54.5-meter height, serving as a vantage point for early bushfire detection. Climbing the tree was permanently closed in 2019 due to structural concerns. Visitors can still enjoy the picnic area and walking trail, which offer an attractive spot for relaxation and learning about the tree's historical significance.
