Daradgee Environmental Education Centre

Nestled 11 km north of Innisfail and 84 km south of Cairns, the Daradgee Environmental Education Centre (DEEC) offers a unique learning environment amidst an agricultural landscape. The 1.4-hectare grounds feature rainforest walks, a tree-lined oval along the North Johnstone River, and facilities including air-conditioned accommodation for up to 108 guests, a kitchen and dining area, an indoor climbing shed, low ropes challenge course, farm shed, and a 23-seat surveyed vessel. DEEC provides tailored programs for students from Prep to Year 12, focusing on health and physical education, science, and personal and social capabilities. Activities encompass low ropes courses, bouldering, farm visits, and rainforest walks, all designed to foster personal growth and environmental awareness. The centre also offers facilities for specialist camps, accommodating music camps, university groups, community retreats, and sports teams.
