Danggali Conservation Park, located approximately 346 kilometers from Adelaide, is Australia's first Biosphere Reserve, established in 1977 to conserve its dense mallee scrubland. The park offers habitat to various bird species, including Major Mitchell's cockatoos and the rare mallee fowl, providing excellent birdwatching opportunities. Visitors may also encounter small reptiles like skinks, red and western grey kangaroos, and shy echidnas. The park features five self-sufficient bush camping sites accessible only by 4WD vehicles or adventure motorcycles, offering a true outback mallee experience. Campsites are unpowered and suitable for tents and camper trailers. Please note that camping fees apply, and campsites must be booked online prior to arrival. Entry to the park is free.
