
Commissariat Point is a coastal locality in South Australia's Far North region, situated approximately 270 kilometers north-northwest of Adelaide and 11 kilometers south of Port Augusta. Overlooking Spencer Gulf, it offers picturesque views and a tranquil environment. The area is accessible via Shack Road, which extends from Port Augusta West along the coast to Blanche Harbor. In 2012, the southern end of Commissariat Point was designated for residential development intended for holiday accommodation. The locality is bordered to the west by the Cultana Training Area, a military training facility used by the Australian Army. Commissariat Point falls within the federal division of Grey, the state electoral district of Stuart, and the local government area of the City of Port Augusta.
