Carrington Falls picnic area, also known as Thomas Place, is nestled in Budderoo National Park's northwest corner. Visitors can marvel at the 50-meter waterfall from three distinct lookouts, each offering unique perspectives. The area features picnic and barbecue facilities, complemented by short walking tracks, including the Izzards lookout track, which provides another stunning view. For those seeking longer hikes, the nearby Nellies Glen picnic area offers the Warris Chair and Missingham lookout tracks, both showcasing breathtaking vistas of Carrington Falls Gorge. The picnic area is accessible via unsealed roads suitable for 2WD vehicles. Parking is available in a gravel carpark at the picnic area. The area is flat and step-free, with concrete pathways leading from the carpark to the picnic tables, toilets, display shelter, and Carrington Falls walking track. Please note that park entry fees apply only in the Minnamurra Rainforest area. Visitors are advised to bring drinking water, a hat, and sunscreen. In summer, humidity in the rainforest can reach as high as 90 percent. Remember to take your binoculars if you want to go birdwatching.
