Cadia, located approximately 25 kilometers from Orange in Central West New South Wales, is one of Australia's largest gold mining operations. Owned entirely by Newmont Corporation since November 2023, the site features the Cadia East underground mine, renowned for its vast gold and copper deposits. Utilizing panel caving, Cadia East began commercial production in January 2013. The operation also includes the Cadia Hill Pit Tailings Storage Facility and the Ridgeway underground mine, currently under care and maintenance. Gold doré bars and gold-rich copper concentrates are produced on-site, with concentrates transported to Blayney for dewatering and then exported via Port Kembla. In March 2022, a Molybdenum Plant was commissioned, adding molybdenum concentrate as a by-product, contributing to the All-In Sustaining Cost per ounce.
