Butlers Gorge Power Station, commissioned in 1951, is a hydroelectric facility located at the base of the Clark Dam in Tasmania's Central Highlands. It features a single 12.2 MW English Electric Francis-type turbine, generating approximately 684 GWh annually. The station contributes to the Derwent scheme, which includes eleven hydroelectric power stations. Water from Lake King William is directed to the station, with discharge regulated to ensure consistent flow to downstream facilities. The station's output is integrated into Tasmania's transmission grid, supporting the region's renewable energy infrastructure.
