The Burra Town Hall, located at 4 Market Street, Burra, South Australia, is a historic venue that has been central to the community since its opening in 1874. Originally established as the Mechanics' and Miners' Institute in 1857, it was transformed into the Burra Institute to serve as a civic center, offering a well-stocked library, museum, educational classes, and lectures. Today, the hall continues to be a focal point for the community, hosting performances, events, conferences, and historical displays. Visitors can explore period costumes, old projectors, the mayor's room, and the records room, immersing themselves in the rich history of the region. The hall is open for viewing between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm daily, except during the summer break from December 20th to February 28th. It is also available for hire as a performance and meeting space.
