Bundagen Co-operative is an intentional community located on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, just south of Coffs Harbour. Established in August 1981, it is guided by principles of social harmony, environmental responsibility, and economic independence. The co-operative owns and manages 313 hectares of private property, bordered by Bongil Bongil National Park, featuring a headland, ocean beach, and freshwater lakes. Approximately 180 members reside in twelve villages, living independently of mains water, sewerage, and electricity, utilizing alternative technologies such as solar power and composting toilets. The community emphasizes organic gardening and the regeneration of native vegetation in environmentally fragile areas.
