Located at South Bluff Headland in Keppel Sands, Queensland, the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard's QF20 Keppel Sands Flotilla is dedicated to ensuring maritime safety along the Capricorn Coast. Established in 1984, this flotilla operates a command center equipped with a 20-meter tower, providing 24/7 marine radio monitoring and search and rescue services. Their primary rescue vessel, "Keppel Sands Rescue," is a 7-meter catamaran, ensuring rapid response to emergencies. The area of responsibility spans from Zilzie to Cape Capricorn, including the northern end of Curtis Island and inshore of Wedge, Divided, and Peak Islands. The call sign for this station is VMR 471.
