Pildappa Rock, located 15 kilometers off National Highway One through Minnipa, is a remarkable granite outcrop renowned for its impressive wave formations, rivaling Western Australia's famous Wave Rock. The rock features two picnic areas on the northern and southern sides, showcasing the highest waves in the area. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding farmland, the Gawler Ranges, and the Blue Sturts to the north. The southeastern end of the rock offers long waves with platforms, ideal for exploration. Deep gnamma holes, natural rock cavities that collect water, are also present, serving as natural reservoirs replenished by underground sources and rainwater runoff. The site is equipped with picnic areas, barbecue facilities, and toilets, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors. A walking and drive trail encircles the rock, providing access to its various features. Climbing the rock rewards visitors with superb views of the Gawler Ranges and the Blue Sturts. Pildappa Rock is accessible via well-signposted unsealed roads, approximately 20 minutes from Minnipa.
