Bluff Knoll, known as Boola Miyel or Pualaar Miial to the Mineng and Goreng sub-groups of the Noongar Nation, meaning 'great many-faced hill' or 'many eyes', is the highest peak in the Stirling Range National Park, standing at 1,099 meters above sea level. The 6.8-kilometer return trail is rated Grade 4, featuring a steep ascent with numerous steps, leading to panoramic 360-degree views of the Stirling and Porongurup mountain ranges, as well as the coast near Albany. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for hikers with a moderate level of fitness. Due to its elevation, Bluff Knoll is one of the few places in Western Australia to experience regular snowfalls, attracting hikers during winter months. The trailhead offers accessible facilities, including picnic areas and toilets. Visitors are advised to check weather conditions before embarking on the hike, as the area is subject to rapid, unpredictable changes in weather.
