Tower Hill, VIC

Tower Hill State Game Reserve, located 18 km west of Warrnambool, is a unique natural and cultural landscape formed within a dormant volcano. Visitors can explore walking trails through wetlands, craters, and bushland, encountering native wildlife such as emus, kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, echidnas, turtles, and possums. The Worn Gundidj Aboriginal Cooperative manages the reserve, offering guided bush and nature tours that provide insights into the area's geological history and Indigenous heritage. The Visitor Centre, designed by architect Robin Boyd, features cultural displays and locally produced Aboriginal products. Picnic areas with tables and electric barbecues are available, though overnight camping is not permitted. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the reserve.
