Located in the historic Prahran Market, Market Lane Coffee is Melbourne's original flagship café and roastery, established in 2009. The café offers a bright, airy atmosphere with ample seating, accommodating both market shoppers and families. They serve a variety of filter and espresso coffees, teas by Assembly, hot chocolate by Mörk, and fresh juices. Their menu features sandwiches and baguettes made with seasonal ingredients from market vendors, granola, pastries from Wild Life Bakery, and bread with Will Studd Le Conquerant butter and Annie Smithers' jam. On weekends, they serve their famous mushroom burgers from 9 am to 2 pm. Coffee is roasted on-site using a 5kg Probat roaster, and the retail area offers freshly roasted beans, brewing equipment, homewares, and coffee-related books and gifts. Public coffee cupping sessions are held every Tuesday at 10 am, with roasting classes coming soon. The café is situated among esteemed food retailers like Mushroom Man Damian Pike, Sweet Greek, Essential Ingredient, Claringbold's, and G.McBean Family Butcher.
