Goulburn Weir, completed in 1891, is a historic structure on the Goulburn River near Nagambie, Victoria. As Australia's first major irrigation diversion, it raises the river's level, enabling gravity-fed water diversion through the Stuart Murray Canal, Cattanach Canal, and East Goulburn Main Channel. This system supplies water to the Shepparton Irrigation Area and other regions. The weir also forms Lake Nagambie, a 1,130-hectare reservoir popular for water sports, fishing, and recreational activities. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas, playgrounds, and wood-fired barbecues along the lake's shores.
