The Glenroy Community Hub, located at 50 Wheatsheaf Road, Glenroy, VIC 3046, is an integrated health and lifelong learning centre designed to support, educate, and inspire locals at all stages of their life. It serves as a 'one-stop shop' for residents to access a range of Council and community-based services in Merri-bek's north, all under one roof. The Hub's design incorporates sustainable features, including a Living Building Challenge and Passive House certification, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility. The Glenroy Library, a central feature of the Hub, offers a variety of services and improved facilities, such as creative spaces, a recording studio, and a jam room located in the heritage wing that once housed the original Glenroy Primary School. Additionally, a dedicated youth zone features a youth collection, lounge, and screen games pod. Other services include a Customer Service Centre, Maternal and Child Health Centre, Glenroy Hub Children's Centre, and community meeting rooms available for hire. The Hub also features a café, established in a repurposed shelter shed, providing hands-on training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The surrounding Bridget Shortell Reserve offers a children's playground, barbecue area, and a public sculpture by Merri-bek artist Isadora Vaughan, enhancing the community experience.
