The Bonegilla Migrant Experience, located at 132 Bonegilla Road, Bonegilla VIC 3691, is a heritage site that preserves the history of Australia's largest migrant reception centre. Between 1947 and 1971, over 300,000 migrants from more than 50 countries passed through this centre, marking it as a significant chapter in Australia's multicultural development. Visitors can explore original camp buildings, hear shared stories, and engage with interactive exhibits that provide personal insights into camp life. The site also offers guided tours, educational programs, and a memorial sculpture to honour the journey of all migrants. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, it is closed on Anzac Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day, and days declared catastrophic fire danger days.
