The Townsville Orchid Society, established in 1947, is dedicated to the cultivation and preservation of orchids. Members gather monthly at The Orchid Hall, 386 Charles Street, Kirwan, on the fourth Sunday (excluding December) from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The society hosts three annual orchid shows—Autumn, Winter, and Spring—featuring displays, raffles, refreshments, and sales of orchids and foliage plants. The Orchid Hall, located at 382B Charles Street, is also available for limited hire and is fully air-conditioned, wheelchair-friendly, and equipped with a commercial-quality kitchen.
