The Beach campground, nestled in Abercrombie River National Park near Oberon, offers a secluded retreat along a sandy stretch by the Abercrombie River. Accessible exclusively by 4WD, it features three unpowered, unmarked campsites suitable for tents, camper trailers, and vehicle-based camping. Amenities include barbecue facilities and toilets. Visitors can enjoy swimming in nearby deep waterholes, 4WD touring, and mountain biking on less-traveled fire trails. Wildlife such as wallabies, kangaroos, and platypuses are often spotted, especially at dawn and dusk. Spring brings vibrant wildflowers, including yellow and red pea flowers and fragrant white tea tree blooms. A $6 booking fee applies; no camping fees are charged. Advance preparation is essential due to the campground's remote location and potential river crossing challenges during rain.
