Low Isles Light, established in 1878, is the first lighthouse in Far North Queensland, marking the entrance to Port Douglas' harbor. Located on Low Island, approximately 13 km northeast of Port Douglas, it features a 60-foot conical tower with a red lantern dome. The lighthouse operates automatically, emitting a white flash every ten seconds, visible up to 17 nautical miles. Accessible only by boat, the island offers visitors opportunities for snorkeling and exploring the surrounding coral reefs. The original 1878 lens is displayed in the Court House Museum of Port Douglas.
