Jones Store, established in the mid-1930s, stands as one of the oldest surviving structures in historic Newcastle Waters. Constructed from corrugated iron, bamboo, and earth, it served as a vital hub for drovers traversing the Murranji, Barkly, and north-south stock routes, offering provisions and essential services such as butchery, bakery, and saddlery. After restoration, the store transformed into a museum, showcasing exhibits that depict the life of outback drovers and the history of the Newcastle Waters area.
