Nestled in Urangan, the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens spans 26 hectares of 6,000-year-old dunes, showcasing native flora from the Wide Bay and Great Sandy regions. Visitors can explore diverse landscapes, including natural bushland, formal gardens, rainforests, and wetlands, all interconnected by scenic walking tracks. A highlight is the Orchid House, home to approximately 5,500 orchids, featuring seasonal displays in late summer and spring. The gardens also offer unique attractions like the Australian bush tucker garden, a Chinese-inspired formal garden, and the tranquil Bush Chapel. Open daily from 6 am to 7 pm, admission is free.
