The area is renowned for its rich history, notably as the site of the Woodsreef Chrysotile Mine, which operated from 1919 to the 1980s. Today, it offers visitors a glimpse into the region's mining heritage amidst its serene natural surroundings. Please note that the conservation area is currently closed due to potential health risks from possible asbestos exposure.
