Wybong, NSW

Mangoola Coal, situated in the Wybong area of New South Wales, is a prominent open-cut coal mine approximately 20 kilometers west of Muswellbrook and 10 kilometers north of Denman. Operated by Glencore, the mine has been producing thermal coal since 2011, serving both export and domestic markets. In 2021, the New South Wales Independent Planning Commission approved an extension, allowing the extraction of an additional 52 million tonnes of coal through to December 2030. The mine employs around 400 workers and utilizes advanced mining techniques to ensure efficient and responsible coal production.
