The Agrarian Kitchen

Nestled in New Norfolk's historic Willow Court precinct, The Agrarian Kitchen offers a hyper-seasonal dining experience where 95% of ingredients are sourced from its on-site one-acre garden. Guests begin with a garden tour, enjoying a snack in the greenhouse before proceeding to the restaurant for an eight-course set menu. The menu showcases Tasmanian produce, with dishes like wood-fired sourdough, handmade burrata, smoked meats, and hand-rolled pasta. The restaurant's commitment to sustainability is evident in its practices of fermentation, charcuterie, and whole-animal butchery. The Agrarian Kitchen also offers hands-on cooking and gardening classes, allowing guests to learn about cheese making, bread baking, and vegetable gardening. The casual kiosk provides house-made pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and salads, reflecting the best of the season. In 2024, it was named Restaurant of the Year by Gourmet Traveller, marking the first time a Tasmanian establishment received this honor.
