
Nestled in the heart of Tanunda, Tanunda Bakery & Cafe offers an authentic taste of German heritage in the Barossa Valley. Established in 1996 by Harding and Elke Trinkle, the bakery is renowned for its traditional German breads, including German Rye Sourdoughs and Vollkorn Sourdough Ryes, all crafted from their own sourdough culture. In addition to breads, they serve a variety of German treats such as Bienenstich, German Yeast Cake, Streusel Buns, and their famous Pretzels. The cozy atmosphere features both indoor and outdoor seating, making it an ideal spot for breakfast, lunch, or a midday treat. To complement the baked goods, customers can enjoy expertly made barista coffee, a selection of cold drinks, and a tempting variety of creamy gelati. The bakery operates Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday from 7 am to 3 pm, remaining closed on Sundays and public holidays.
