
Located approximately 63 kilometers east of Newman, Jigalong is a remote Aboriginal community in Western Australia's Pilbara region. Established in 1907, it is home to around 333 residents, primarily from the Martu people. The community offers essential facilities, including a school providing education from kindergarten to Year 12, and a medical center operated by the Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Services. In 2019, the Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Program facilitated the development of a community-owned youth center, outdoor barbecue setting, creek culvert, and public amenities block.
