Nestled in the historic town of Farina, South Australia, Farina Bakery operates seasonally, typically from late May to July. This unique underground bakery, a remnant from the 1930s, is revitalized each year by a dedicated team of volunteers. They craft a variety of baked goods, including renowned 1-kilogram fruit loaves, eight-hour slow-cooked beef pies with bacon and cheese, and artisan bread loaves. The bakery's wood-fired oven, fueled by recycled Mulga wood, imparts a distinctive flavor to every item. Proceeds support the Farina Restoration Group's efforts to preserve the town's rich history.
