
Anna Creek Station, located 160 km east of Coober Pedy and 16 km west of William Creek along the Coober Pedy Road, is the world's largest working cattle station, covering 15,746 square kilometres. Established in 1863, it has a rich history of cattle breeding and fattening. The station's diverse landscape features sand hill country, swamps, and extensive gibber tablelands. Managed by Matthew Williams, the station operates with a dedicated team, including up to eight station hands, a plant operator, and a cook. With an annual rainfall of 140 mm, Anna Creek Station supports a herd of 17,000 cattle.
