Sloping Main, Tasmania

Sloping Main is a picturesque coastal locality on Tasmania's Tasman Peninsula, approximately 22 kilometers northwest of Nubeena. This serene area is renowned for its 3.5-kilometer west-facing beach, offering calm waters ideal for families and beachcombers. The beach is backed by low foredune ridges and Burdens Marshes, a partly drained wetland, providing a unique natural landscape. The region is also home to the Sloping Main Reserve, a 660-hectare conservation area protecting diverse and threatened native vegetation, including critically endangered black gum forests. The reserve supports a range of wildlife, including wallabies, wombats, and potentially the Tasman Peninsula dusky antechinus.
