Sloping Main is a picturesque coastal locality on Tasmania's Tasman Peninsula, approximately 22 kilometers northwest of Nubeena. This serene area is renowned for its 3.5-kilometer west-facing beach, offering calm waters ideal for families and beachcombers. The beach is backed by low foredune ridges and Burdens Marshes, a partly drained wetland, providing a unique natural landscape. The region is also home to the Sloping Main Reserve, a 660-hectare conservation area protecting diverse and threatened native vegetation, including critically endangered black gum forests. The reserve supports a range of wildlife, including wallabies, wombats, and potentially the Tasman Peninsula dusky antechinus. Access to Sloping Main is via Route C341 (Coal Mine Road), leading visitors through scenic landscapes to this tranquil destination.
