Located approximately 300 kilometers northwest of Hobart and 125 kilometers south of Burnie, Rosebery Mine has been a cornerstone of Tasmania's mining industry since 1936. Operated by MMG Limited, the mine produces zinc, copper, lead concentrates, and gold doré through mechanized underground mining methods, followed by crushing, grinding, and flotation processes. These concentrates are transported by rail to the Port of Burnie for shipment to smelters in Hobart and Port Pirie. Employing around 500 individuals, with approximately 98% being Australian nationals, the operation continues to contribute significantly to the local economy and community.
