RAAF Base Edinburgh, situated approximately 25 kilometers north of Adelaide, serves as a pivotal hub for the Royal Australian Air Force's intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare operations. The base is home to No. 92 Wing, which operates P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, and No. 9 Squadron, remotely piloting MQ-4C Triton unmanned aerial systems. Additionally, the Air Warfare Centre, responsible for research and development of defense systems, is based here. The base also hosts various squadrons, including No. 453 Squadron Edinburgh Flight, No. 24 (City of Adelaide) Squadron, No. 87 Squadron, and No. 292 Squadron, contributing to its diverse operational capabilities.
