Ngarkat Conservation Park

Ngarkat Conservation Park, situated approximately 200 kilometers southeast of Adelaide, spans 271,000 hectares, making it the largest remnant of native vegetation in settled agricultural South Australia. Established in 1979 to conserve the mallee heath habitat of the 90 Mile Desert, the park plays a significant role in preserving biological diversity. Visitors can explore the vast mallee landscape through remote 4WD tracks, camp under the stars at one of the 11 campgrounds, or enjoy 10 walking trails that offer a closer connection to the environment. The park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with certain areas closed during the fire danger period from November to March. Vehicle entry fees are $11.20, and camping fees start at $22.30 per night.
