Narran Lake Nature Reserve, established in 1988, spans 26,480 hectares in north-west New South Wales, approximately 50 km east of Brewarrina. This protected wetland is internationally recognized under the Ramsar Convention for its unique ecological communities and significance to waterbirds. The reserve is jointly managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Yuwaalaraay/Euahlayi people, reflecting its deep cultural importance. Access is restricted to protect nesting birds, with public entry limited to special open days, such as the annual event held in May 2025.
