Mitchell River Old Weir Wall

The Mitchell River Old Weir Wall, also known as the Glenaladale Weir, stands as a testament to 19th-century engineering ambition. Constructed in 1881 near the junction of Stony Creek and the Mitchell River, the weir was intended to support irrigation in East Gippsland. However, it was damaged by floods later that year and never repaired. Today, visitors can explore the ruins, which are accessible via a steep 4WD track or a 1-kilometer walk from the end of Milton Park Road. The site offers breathtaking views of the Mitchell River and its surrounding gorges.
