Coalstoun Lakes National Park, established in 1929, is Queensland's smallest national park, covering 26.3 hectares. It features Mount Le Brun, an extinct volcano with two large craters that occasionally fill with shallow lakes. Formed over 600,000 years ago, it's one of Australia's youngest volcanic formations. The park offers a 4.4 km return walking track, providing stunning views of the craters, surrounding farmland, and Mount Walsh National Park. Birdwatching enthusiasts can observe species like white-faced herons, rose-crowned fruit-doves, and double-barred finches. Camping is not permitted, and visitors are encouraged to follow park guidelines to protect its natural and cultural values.
