The University of Melbourne's Dookie Campus Dairy is a state-of-the-art facility featuring an automated milking system with three Lely Astronaut robots, capable of milking up to 180 cows three times daily. This system collects extensive data on individual cows, supporting research in animal nutrition, heat stress management, grazing behavior, and the integration of automated milking into pasture-based systems.
