Balancing Rock, a remarkable granite boulder, precariously rests on a 300-millimetre point among other unique rock formations. Located approximately 12 kilometers south of Glen Innes on the New England Highway, it is visible from a designated rest area marked with a Balancing Rock sign. While situated on private property and not accessible to the public, visitors can enjoy the view from the rest area. Adjacent to Balancing Rock, the Stonehenge Recreational Reserve offers opportunities for picnicking and exploring additional granite formations. Travelers heading north from Guyra should look to the right about 15 kilometers from Glen Innes; those traveling south should look to the left half a kilometer after passing the Stonehenge Recreational Reserve.
