The Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC) is an Aṉangu-led organization dedicated to enhancing education for Aṉangu children in South Australia's remote communities. Established in 1992, PYEC collaborates with ten schools across the APY Lands, Yalata, and Oak Valley, ensuring that students receive quality education that honors both Aṉangu and Piṟanpa (non-Indigenous) perspectives. Central to PYEC's mission is the development of bilingual curriculum resources, empowering Aṉangu to share their stories in their own languages. The organization also fosters strong community partnerships, working closely with families and local leaders to create culturally relevant educational programs. Through these initiatives, PYEC strives to cultivate strong, smart, and respectful learners who are deeply connected to their culture and country.
