Pelican Lagoon Conservation Park, established in 1967, spans 449 hectares on the eastern end of Kangaroo Island, approximately 20 km southwest of Penneshaw. The park encompasses diverse habitats, including mallee woodlands, coastal shrublands, and wetland areas, providing a sanctuary for a variety of bird species. Notably, it is home to 127 bird species, such as the Bar-tailed Godwit, Common Greenshank, and the Bush Stone-curlew. The park also features several islands within the lagoon, including Rabbit Islet, Bird Islet, Goanna Islet, Pig Islet, Wallaby Islet, and Shag Rock.
