Nitmiluk National Park, located approximately 320 km south of Darwin in the Katherine region, offers a diverse landscape of ancient sandstone gorges, lush waterholes, and rich cultural heritage. The park comprises two main sections: Nitmiluk Gorge to the south and Leliyn (Edith Falls) to the north, connected by a 90 km drive. Visitors can explore the park through various activities, including boat tours, canoeing, bushwalking, and camping. The Nitmiluk Centre serves as a hub, providing information on walks, canoe hire, boat tours, camping, and more. The park is home to the 62 km Jatbula Trail, a multi-day hike traversing monsoon forests, waterfalls, and rock art sites. Leliyn (Edith Falls) features a popular swimming hole and campground, accessible via the Stuart Highway. The park is managed by the Jawoyn people, who continue to share their culture with visitors. A parks pass is required for entry.
