The Ballarat International Foto Biennale, Australia's premier contemporary photography event, transforms Ballarat into a vibrant hub of visual storytelling. From August 23 to October 19, 2025, the 11th biennale presents a curated Core Program featuring over 100 photographers from Australia and 20+ countries, including major solo exhibitions and group shows. Highlights include the world premiere of Catherine Leroy's "One-Way Ticket to Vietnam 1966-1968," the Australian exclusive "ENNINFUL x MAPPLETHORPE," and Campbell Addy's "I Love Campbell." The Open Program invites global photographers to exhibit in unique venues across the city, fostering a city-wide celebration of creativity. Workshops, artist talks, and the Prompted Peculiar International AI Prize further enrich the festival experience. The National Centre for Photography, housed in the heritage-listed former Union Bank building, serves as the primary venue and headquarters for the biennale.
